OUR CO-FOUNDERS

Meet co-founders Reggie Schoeppe and Shaydon Philip. Two athletes both hailing from the greater Edmonton area whose journeys and passion for football began at a young age. Both started their careers  playing six years of minor football before competing for their individual high school teams. Their paths converged in 2015 when they both signed with the University of Alberta Golden Bears here in Edmonton.


After completing their collegiate careers at the UofA as student-athletes, both transitioned to professional careers in the CFL and abroad. While Shaydon has since retired, Reggie continues to play in Europe. Having competed at every level of Canadian football, they now share their knowledge and passion for the game by coaching year-round.


With over 15 years of playing experience and 6 years of coaching each, their deep-rooted connection to the sport has kept them immersed in the ever-growing football community. This ongoing involvement provides them with a unique understanding of the needs and aspirations players experience at every stage of their careers.

OUR MISSION

After Covid, while still playing, we began to run into a problem that we find most Canadian football athletes are encountering. It has and continues to become increasingly difficult to find a proper selection of football cleats in Canada. Even if you are lucky enough to find a pair of cleats that tailors to your stye and size, companies are charging an arm and a leg for their products and on top of that gouging you with inflated shipping prices.  


Our mission is simple, we hope to be a resource in the game that every single athlete across the nation can use to ensure they step onto the field sporting a pair of cleats that not only enhances their confidence and play, but is cost effective at the same time. 


We know from personal experience that an athletes cleats are more than just a piece of equipment. What we wear on our feet in between the lines is who we are and sends a message about what we came to do. We are here to empower you to light up the field, from your very first whistle all the way through to your final snap.

Throughout the years we have been blessed with the opportunity to meet some extraordinary people on and off the field; from coaches, players, fans and everywhere in between. 


From the beginning, we have been inspired by the people that came before us and have always believed in giving back to a game that gave so much to us and helped shape us into the men we are today. 

The moment we came up with the idea to create Playbook Cleats we knew that we wanted it to be so much more than just an online retail for athletes to purchase cleats. We wanted to expand our reach past the players we coach and help grow this tremendous game nationally by sharing our experiences and knowledge to every boy and girl who makes the life altering decision to play the game of football.
